The TCAFF is produced by Mizna, committed to bringing the best of Arab cinema to Twin Cities audiences. Now in its tenth year, Mizna's festival has screened a wealth of Arab and Arab American titles and hosted many acclaimed filmmakers to present their work and engage with our local communities. More about the festival Mizna's first Twin Cities Arab Film Festival (TCAFF) was held in 2003. In the past we ran on an eighteen-month cycle, but are transitioning to an annual festival in the fall. The TCAFF is the second longest standing Arab Film Festival in North America and we are excited to be celebrating our tenth year this November 5 to 8. Mizna's festival aims to exhibit primarily films made by and about Arabs, but also about non-Arabs who live in the Arab world. With few exceptions, the festival screens Minnesota theatrical premieres and the event serves as an opportunity to collaborate with a variety of Twin Cities organizations, like the Film Society of Minneapolis/St. Paul and the Walker Art Center. Moreover, the festival also creates the opportunity to celebrate artists whose work is Arab-themed by inviting filmmakers and their collaborators to attend screenings and engage audiences in related discussions. We also draw on our thriving local community of scholars, activists, and artists to hold informed panel discussions following many of the screenings.

We welcome submissions and inquiries regarding the 2016 festival. However, we will not be able to address questions about the submitted title selections until the TCAFF program has been finalized.
