The winter issue of Mizna: Prose, Poetry, and Art is nearly here! This issue is guest edited by Gary Paul Nabhan, the internationally-celebrated nature writer, agrarian activist, and ethnobiologist, and features writing from Naomi Shihab Nye, an interview with Moheb Soliman by Marwa Helal, and the artwork of Monira Al Qadiri.
JOURNAL RELEASE READING + DISCUSSION
On February 23, 2017 we're teaming up with long-time Mizna partner Northern Lights.mn and their Anthropocene Awareness Association series to present a panel discussion on the topic of the environment in the Arab world and its intersections in Arab America. It will be led by guest editor Gary Paul Nabhan and will also include Tami Mohamed Brown, Dawud Mulla, Moheb Soliman, and others, and showcase a video by our featured environment issue artist and 2017 Northern Spark project collaborator Monira Al Qadiri.

Mizna is a Twin Cities non-profit arts organization that promotes contemporary expressions of Arab American culture. We publish the literary journal Mizna: Prose, Poetry and Art Exploring Arab America, produce the Twin Cities Arab Film Festival, and offer varied other readings, performances, art projects, and community events involving an exceptionally talented and diverse range of local, national, and international Arab American artists.
