Homeland Hacker Heba Amin Joins Mizna
We're happy to share the news that the incomparable Heba Amin, long-time Mizna friend who is one of the artists behind the subversive action on the television series "Homeland" set, has joined Mizna's team as our Curator of Visual Art. Mizna has a long relationship with Heba who was a grantee in Mizna's 2007 Latitudes granting program and who visited our 2011 Twin Cities Arab Film Festival from Berlin with her short film "Voices from the Revolution."
From Heba: "I am honored to be joining Mizna as the Visual Arts Curator and am looking forward to showcase some of the many exciting Arab artists working in the contemporary art world today. Having lived in Minnesota for many years and participated with the organization in various capacities, I am thrilled to be maintaining my relationship with the very hardworking people who have made it their mission to promote the rich and diverse culture of the Arab community. I can not imagine a more appropriate time to come on board."
Heba Y. Amin is an Egyptian visual artist, researcher and, currently, visiting assistant professor at the American University in Cairo.
