OFFICE MANAGER
We are looking for a motivated professional with at least three years of pertinent work experience to fulfill the major responsibilities of Office Administrator, an important new position. The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, accuracy, flexibility, timeliness and the ability to synthesize information while progressing on multiple tracks. The new Office Administrator will be joining a small and efficient team, comfortable working at a fast pace on a mix of tasks and working together.
The Office Administrator reports directly to the Executive Director, and works under her the general supervision to fulfill the following duties: - Office management: organize and maintain office systems; maintain database of subscribers, donors, and audiences; perform regular bookkeeping; receive phone calls and correspondence
- Support the ED and Board of Directors by preparing and disseminating board meeting materials and subsequent correspondence as well as taking minutes
- Provide support for arts programming and classes
- Assist with publicity and communications: perform web updates, assist with e-newsletters, distribute promotional material
- Supervise implementation and maintenance of technology and equipment
- Coordinate interactions with donors and sponsors to cultivate increased contributions and grants. Create and maintain files on donor history and correspondence
- Provide other necessary administrative support
EXPERIENCE - Candidates should have experience in all areas listed above
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to type at least 40 wpm
- Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Quickbooks. Ability to learn new software
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ideal candidate will work part-time at least 3 days/week in the office
- Experience working with Arab/Muslim community
Additional Information: Work will be performed in our office and off-site. Some evening and weekend hours. Weekly schedule may fluctuate depending on programming. The position is part-time, and pay will be based on experience.

COMMUNITY LIAISON/PROJECT COORDINATOR
Mizna is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated professional with pertinent work experience to fulfill the major responsibilities of Community Liaison/Program Manager—an important new position! Mizna is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to providing a forum for Arab American art. We are launching a new program called Silaat/Connections to identify the artistic needs and existing barriers to arts participation in the Twin Cities Arab and Muslim community.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Identify underrepresented segments of the Arab and/or Muslim communities that Mizna is not currently serving.
- Engage these communities using dialogs, surveys, etc. to identify needs related to art, culture, and creative expression, and the barriers to participating in such activities.
- Develop and execute an action and programming plan with the information gathered.
- Manage a writing workshop series for members of this community.
- Regularly present findings and updates to the Executive Director and to the Board.
EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Program management
- Previous engagement with Arab and/or Muslim community
- Planning and budgeting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer software skills
- Flexibility
- Being a team player
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's Degree preferred
- Community organizing/community liaison experience a plus
- Arabic language proficiency is a plus
- Education, literature, and/or arts emphasis a plus.

Mizna brings a diverse group of established and emerging writers and performers to St. Paul Almanac's Lowertown Jam stage. This summer, Mizna will be offering four classes in spoken and written Arabic: Arabic I, II, III, and an Advanced Class. Levels I and II will be 10-week sessions taught by Rita Farah, and Level III and Advanced Arabic: Media & Culture will be intensive 5-week sessions taught by Mohammed Elmeski, Ph.D. Classes will take place in Mizna's office in St. Paul. Mizna is participating in Northern Spark, a major Twin Cities all-night art festival on June 8! (Yeah, you read that rightALL NIGHT, dusk to dawn.) It's a participatory street art project, and we want you to join us!
We will be hosting a street art installation called "Underpass of the Eyes of Freedom" that will bring the spirit of the recent and ongoing Arab revolutions and uprisings to St. Paul. Festival goers are called to wander into an underpass of the Arab Spring: Take a spray can, an Arabic stencil: reinscribe potent global expressions of resistance and change. Including graffiti designs by Hend Kheera, Islam Shabana, Hamza Salim, Dunya Alwan. Amazing, right?

Mizna is a forum for Arab American film, literature, and art.
