Following a 12 week sold out premiere run in San Francisco, CA, I Heart Hamas: And Other Things I'm Afraid to Tell You will make its Midwest premiere in February 2010. The critically acclaimed, introspective one-woman show on life as a Palestinian-American will premiere in Minneapolis on February 18th! On the opening night of Jennifer Jajeh's "I Heart Hamas," join Mizna for a pre-show party at the Bedlam Theatre at 6:30 p.m. There will be hors d'oeuvers and readings from the latest issue of our literary journal, featuring current and past authors. And, after Jennifer Jajeh's show, Abdellah Ouchagour and his band will play modern North African music.

Beginning September 22nd, Mizna will be offering four 10-week classes in spoken and written Arabic at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. All Arabic classes take place in Mizna office in Northeast Minneapolis. $200 a class. No refunds will be given after the first class session.

The lyrics of DAM are influenced by the continuing Israeli-Palestinian conflict as well as by the Palestinian struggle for freedom and equality. DAM also address such controversial issues as terrorism, drugs and women's rights.

'Da Arabian MC's', Dam also means 'blood' in Arabic and 'immortal' in Hebrew. Heralded by France's Le Monde as "The spokesman of a new generation," DAM is the first and leading Palestinian hip hop group. It is composed of Tamer Nafar, 28, his younger brother Suhell, 24, and Mahmoud Jreri, 25. Cedar Cultural Center.
