To mark the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine, Mizna presents a sneak preview of Annemarie Jacir’s new feature film, PALESTINE 36. Be among the first to watch this epic film. Coffee and treats provided by Qahwah House.

This historical drama is the first of its kind to tackle this critical period and is Palestine’s entry to the 98th Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film. Starring an all-star cast of Saleh Bakri, Hiam Abbass, and Jeremy Irons.

ABOUT THE FILM

Palestine 36 takes place in 1936, as the British Empire tightens its grip on Palestine. Our protagonist, Yusuf, is caught between his village home, his work in Jerusalem, and his duty to the revolution. Amid an anticolonial revolt, all sides converge in a decisive moment for the entire region.
