Over the past 20 years, Mizna has done big things! We’ve been able to nurture creatives in our communities, create deep relationships with incredible artists, present artistically excellent art, and increasingly give our artists’ work national and international reach. We’ve published 37 issues of Mizna, the only Arab American art + lit journal around. We’ve produced 14 Arab Film Fests. We’ve presented the work of musicians, theater artists, and dancers. We’ve presented the work of more than 600 artists.
We’ve done this work while staying true to our vision of complicating the narrative about our multiform Arab/SWANA communities.
We hear often from artists and audiences that the space that Mizna creates is unique and necessary.
All this programming has all been done on a shoe-string budget, with part-time and contract-based staff. We’ve been truly fueled by people’s passion for our mission and our values.
But passion is not enough!
We are working to strengthen our financial foundation and make our work more sustainable. And we need you to show your support by investing in our future. If you would like to help make sure that Mizna’s work continues, please buy your tickets and join us for a wonderful night.
Thank you, community!
