Mizna is participating in Northern Spark, a major Twin Cities all-night art festival on June 8! (Yeah, you read that right—ALL NIGHT, dusk to dawn.) It’s a participatory street art project, and we want you to join us!

Underpass of the Eyes of Freedom will bring the spirit of the recent and ongoing Arab revolutions and uprisings to St. Paul. Festival goers are called to wander into an underpass of the Arab Spring: Take a spray can, an Arabic stencil: reinscribe potent global expressions of resistance and change. Including comissioned graffiti designs by Hend Kheera, Islam Shabana, Hamza Salim, and Dunya Alwan. At the Cairo Café that will await you in the underpass, you can peruse a copy of the Visual Guide to the Arab Spring written for us by visual culture scholar Nama Khalil. It sounds amazing, right?

Hend Kheera is a visual artist and courageous participant in the street art movement that has played a vital role in the Egyptian revolution and its aftermath. Read about Hend in this Rolling Stone article: http://www.rollingstoneme.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1570
