Event details

As international news outlets, world leaders, and major social media platforms are engaging in censorship and distorting the narrative, all while perpetuating the dehumanization of Palestinians and their enduring suffering, Mizna extends its support of “Palestine Cinema Days” Festival, which was forcibly canceled due to the genocidal war on Gaza.

On the somber anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, observed on November 2nd, and in an effort to amplify Palestinian voices, we are screening Gaza Surf Club directed by  Mickey Yamine and Philip Gnadt at 8:00 p.m. at Trylon Cinema in Minneapolis. The screening is free of charge.

This event is a fundraiser for Gaza. Audiences are encouraged to donate to a fundraiser facilitated by the Beirut Art Center which is collecting financial support to send through trusted colleagues and friends on the ground in Gaza to distribute and share with individuals and communities based on their needs.

ABOUT THE FILM

Trapped in “the world’s largest open-air prison” and ruled by war, a new generation is drawn to the beaches. Sick of occupation and political gridlock, they find their own personal freedom in the waves of the Mediterranean – they are the surfers of Gaza.
