Think of it as viewing a friend’s travel slides, only with a few more quirks and some talkback. Mizna’s Moheb Soliman continues his interdisciplinary Great Lakes project most recently with HOMES, work created from four months circling the coast of the region. For two weekends in February, we’re inviting people to Mizna HQ to join him in processing a part of that. Read on for Moheb’s invitation:

I, Moheb Soliman,
need to process [reckon with, internalize, file away, delete]
nearly 10,000 digital pictures
of over 10,000 analogous miles
of the Great Lakes borderland [HOMES]
taken during four months circling the region
for an on-going interdisciplinary project.

Are you not curious about some remote, populated, wild, or ruined stretch or other of this sea in the heart of the continent? Do you not want to know what this vast natural/cultural border looks like without leaving the Mizna office? Come and see, for an hour-and-a-half or two, and up to five at a time–plenty for a long ride. We’ll get started promptly, settle in, keep it quiet, and not stop till we arrive at the end of the section. Your attention isn’t mandatory; you’ll still get the refreshments and anecdotes; your votes on some images will be solicited. BONUS: take a time out in my special camping tent outfitted with overhead projector capabilities.
