Mizna is pleased to co-sponsor the Il Cinema Ritrovato On Tour screening of the recent restoration of Leila and the Wolves by Heiny Srour.
Leila and the Wolves centers women’s roles in the fight for Arab liberation. In the film, Leila travels through time, from the British Mandate of Palestine to the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, weaving together memory and myth. Drawing on archival materials, the stands as a piece of anti-colonial cinema and feminist historiography.
