ISMAIL KHALIDI. Born in Beirut and raised in Chicago, Ismail Khalidi, Mizna’s first ever Writer-in-Residence, is a Palestinian-American playwright, actor and author. His plays include “Truth Serum Blues” (Pangea World Theater, 2005), the award-winning “Tennis in Nablus,” and “Final Status.”
Khalidi is currently co-editing an anthology of Palestinian plays due out in 2014 from TCG and is adapting Ghassan Kanafani’s “Return to Haifa” for the stage. His writing has appeared in Mizna, American Theater, the Daily Beast, and the Nation. He holds a BA from Macalester College and an MFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is currently based in New York City.
