Mizna is pleased to co-present Sense of Adventure with the Loft Literary Center as part of Wordplay, on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 7pm CDT. Join authors Maggie Shipstead (Great Circle), Randa Jarrar (Love is an Ex-Country), and Hoa Nguyen (A Thousand Times You Lose Your Treasure).
A stunt motorcyclist in an all-women Vietnamese circus troupe; an aviator attempting to be the first person (let alone woman) to fly around the world, from pole to pole, and the woman who dares to play her decades later; a cross-country roadtrip in areas hostile to a woman marginalized several times over—why risk so much? What does it cost to be the boldest, most daring, joyfully liberated person you can be?
