In the lead up to the U.S. presidential election, when fear-mongering about immigrants, Arabs, and Muslims is politically expedient, Mizna proudly presents the 11th Twin Cities Arab Film Festival—a chance to see thoughtfully curated films from Arab and Arab American filmmakers. The Arab Film Fest features local debuts of independent narrative and documentary features and short films from North Africa and the Middle East. This year, the Arab Film Fest will screen more than twenty films from Palestine, Tunisia, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, and Iraq, as well as those from local Arab filmmakers at St. Anthony Main Theatre in partnership with The Film Society of Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Premiere Sponsors: The Bush Foundation, Left Tilt Fund, Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, Minnesota State Arts Board.
Additional Sponsors Metro Transit, Macalester College, and the following University of Minnesota programs: Immigration History Research Center Archives at the University of Minnesota, Asian Languages and Literatures, the African Studies Initiative, and teh French and Italian Department
Presented in partnership with the Film Society of Minneapolis St. Paul.
