Mizna is pleased to offer opportunities for writers to engage with acclaimed Palestinian American poet and memoirist Ibtisam Barakat during her Twin Cities visit. She will be reading from her new memoir “Balcony on the Moon” joining poet Naomi Shihab Nye for a literary conversation on Friday, March 31 at St. Catherines University.
Additionally, she will present a workshop, a craft talk + brunch, and writing feedback for a limited number of people.

About Ibtisam Barakat: Award-winning, Palestinian American author, poet, translator, artist, and educator Ibtisam Barakat was born in Beit Hanina, East Jerusalem, and grew up in Ramallah, Palestine. She writes in both English and Arabic. Her acclaimed memoirs “Balcony on the Moon,” and “Tasting the Sky,” and her other works center on healing social injustices, especially in the lives of young people. Her writings exist in numerous translations.
