Layla Faraj is a rising senior at Barnard College studying English and Literary Translation. Her work has appeared in the Modern Love section of the New York Times, ArabLit Quarterly, and in a short film in collaboration with Whatsapp. As she works on future creative projects, she continues to reflect on her Syrian roots and the rich literary and artistic history from SWANA.
