She is also the creator of a number of zines and short comics. Leila’s creative work primarily explores issues related to diaspora, refugeehood, history, memory, and borders. She is the founder and curator of Jaffat El Aqlam, an independent platform established in 2014 that celebrates creations by humans based in the MENA region. When she’s not conducting workshops or stressing out about meeting self-made deadlines, she experiments with different mediums of art, journals, film photography, glitch art; sends postcards to strangers; publishes zines; and waters her plants. This human’s work has been featured in Jaffat El Aqlam, Al Tashkeel magazine (issue #24), Qahwa Project, Al Shakmajiya magazine, Nu Lit House, Riwayya, Reconnecting Arts (issue #1), Macro: An Anthology of Image Macros, and OOMK zine.

Stephany Madi is a Lebanese designer and illustrator living in New York City with her cat, Mika. She spends her days designing user interfaces and experiences, cooking and baking, and escaping into an imaginary world of illustrated absurdities inspired by realities.

Merieme Mesfioui is a Moroccan illustrator, graphic designer, and comic author based in France. Combining traditional Moroccan patterns and elements from Islamic art with graphic design and an erotic touch, she expresses through her art female empowerment and supports the LGBTQIA+ rights in SWANA countries as an ally.
