ARTIST TALK—Wael Morcos: Graphic Design in Multi-Cultural Contexts

Designing across a variety of scripts comes with a set of challenges. Consideration for history, cultural nuances, and diverse communities come into play. In this talk, Wael Morcos will share some of his current work at the design studio Morcos Key unfolding between the US and South West Asia and North Africa, spanning editorial, branding, exhibition, and type design.

This talk is co-presented with the Minneapolis College of Art and Design on the occasion of a gallery exhibition at MCAD that Wael designed the branding for and is included in, Inner Structures-Outer Rhythms: Contemporary Arab and Persian Graphic Design, on view through November 6.

We are thrilled to co-host his first visit to the Twin Cities with the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
